In a way it reminds me of The Crazy-Quilt, using it’s elliptical structure through someones life to illustrate how much of our lives are out of our control. I like that and wish more films showcased that, though I understand it is not what many want to hear. The idea of life being a string of adjustments we make seems right.
Too crazy for boy town. Too much of a boy for crazy town. A tedious, but beautiful, but tedious film.
This is Blank in top form. It is really amazing how much he can get out of seemingly so little. Someone in one of the extra interviews i think hit a big part of it on the head – trust. the comfort that these people have with Blank and his camera is key to the direct connection you feel.
