This was fine. It has some nice moments, a few good laughs, and the Tom Noonan concept is great. But overall this felt a little bland, a little general, like you heard someone talk about a Charlie Kaufman movie and then made a new movie based on those recollections. I think Kaufman’s characterizations of his protagonist’s fantasy women are more complex than they could be, but still sometimes seem borderline. Lisa was too damaged for me, it felt phony at times and stopped these people from ever really feeling real.
