For most of the movie I thought the structure of the film – the cat and mouse game being setup by cross cutting between Mark Landis and his pursuer – was forced and just not working. Towards the end it felt like that might be intentional, but I’m not sure if that is correct, or I was just reaching for justification. Either way this felt padded. I think the movie would have been fine at about half the length. I enjoyed it though. The moment when Landis admits that part of the appeal of his ruse is that it is the only time people are nice to him and treat him with respect hits hard.
